Based on user requirements and user experience we will define a MCA method that is capable of automatically translating measured data into a subset of management options. In principle we will use standard MCA methods as implemented in many non-spatial (DEFINITE) and spatial decision support systems (e.g. IDRISI and many other GIS systems). Users will provide a series of management options (that will vary per site/ type of aquaculture). These will be collected into a database and, through research and discussions linked to the parameters available from EO and other measurements. Steps in the MCA analysis will include normalization, the establishment of weighting factors and the formulation of the MCA equation.
